Flame Run contemporary art glass studio will showcase the various glass techniques of its resident artists including the work of owner Brook Forrest White Jr., Susie Slabaugh, Paul Nelson, Paul Hugues, Tiffany Ackerman, Mike Hudson, Jon Capps, Bryan Holden and John Stokes An opening night reception will begin at 6 p.m. February 05, 2010 - May 28, 2010 Flame Run Glass Studio and Gallery will celebrate the work of Ben Edols and Kathy Elliott, the Australian couple whose reclining leaf series and other signature blown and cold-worked collaborations have won international acclaim. The exhibit opens June 4 and runs through July 30. An opening night reception begins at 5 p.m. The couple's most recent work focuses on botanica: leaves, pods, buds, and seeds. Edols spends most of his time blowing glass using Italian techniques he learned from Lino Tagliapietra, the Italian maestro, and Elliott specializes in cold working techniques. Their work has been exhibited in the U.S., Australia, Japan, Germany, England and Italy. They live in Sydney, Australia. June 04, 2010 - July 30, 2010 Flame Run Glass Studio and Gallery's exhibit, "Centre College & Friends," celebrates Stephen Rolfe Powell, who is a seminal figure in contemporary glass art in Kentucky, and also celebrates a wide-ranging group of artists Powell mentored over the last 25 years while he built the Centre College glass program. The show runs from June 4 through July 30.
